Carbon Poker Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo
Carbon Poker goes out of its way to be welcoming to Omaha players with PL, Limit, and No Limit ring game tables. They offer $.10/$.20 to $50/$100 stakes at the play money tables, but at last check the cash games only go up to $30/$60. Unfortunately, at this time you won’t find any Omaha Hi/Lo ring games at Carbon. As is typical at all online poker rooms, the most popular Omaha games are the low stakes PL tables. You’ll also find daily $3-$5 PL Omaha, PL Omaha Hi/LO, and PL Omaha Freezeout tournaments plus occasional Omaha freerolls. Carbon Poker also hosts frequent PL, Limit and NL Omaha sit-n-gos (though again no Hi/Lo) with a handful of $2.20 entries, though the majority of the sit-n-go entries actually run quite high.
If you feel like mixing it up a little, Carbon Poker also offers several HORSE freerolls and tournaments. They have not yet extended these interests to regular HORSE ring games, though increased traffic at the Omaha tables might inspire such changes in the future.

Caron Poker Bonus
Carbon Poker’s 100% deposit bonus of up to $600 is the best we’ve found (and is shared by Full Tilt). The free cash has already paid off for Carbon Poker in the form of a recent traffic hike, and if they continue to be generous with their promotional programs then we suspect their online player tally will continue to grow. In addition to the usual medley of referral bonuses, satellites, and site-specific tournament events Carbon Poker offers a solid VIP points program that includes cash back. They also offer leader board bonuses to the top multi-table and sit-n-go winners, but it might be hard to finish the week in the money if you’re only playing the handful of Omaha tables.

Software
Carbon Poker is on the new Merge network which draws from the now-defunct Poker cache of players and software. The borrowed software platform is still fast and flawless during both peak and off hours and it supports a truly impressive range of poker games plus all their variants. Carbon offers a no-nonsense player interface with a well-organized table map and key for game feature specifics. The tables themselves are plain though nicely done and do what they should do—keep your focus on the cards. Overall, while it may not be the most overwhelming software package you’ll experience, it certainly won’t ever let you down during a big game.
Site
The Carbon Poker site is somewhat cluttered between all the colors, graphics, animations and banner ads. This is yet another site that declines to offer drop down menus, meaning you might have to do some searching to find exactly the information that you want. That said, the site includes an above average amount of information with a breakdown on each of their available games but not a lot of strategy advice. This is one of the few major poker rooms that still has a strong focus on community building, though support suffers a little with only live chat and e-mail options. One feature that we found especially useful was the homepage tournament timer which tells returning players exactly when the next big game is starting.
Game Quality
The Omaha game quality at Carbon Poker is surprisingly ho-hum for a more established site. There is plenty of action at the play tables, but the high stakes cash games are practically a ghost town. Carbon Poker does boast a significant list of visiting pros, but you won’t see very many of them at the Omaha tables (especially with their lower stakes). That means the majority of your competitors are going to be newbies and amateurs which makes for a pretty low overall skill level.
